Rest Your Body

Resting your body can help when stomach pain happens during summer, especially if it is related to heat exposure, tiredness, mild dehydration, overeating, or general stomach discomfort. When your body is tired, digestion and recovery may not work as efficiently, so giving yourself time to rest can help reduce stress on the body.

If you are feeling stomach pain, try sitting or lying down in a comfortable position in a cool and well-ventilated place. Avoid heavy physical activity, running, or intense exercise for some time because these activities may increase discomfort or make you feel more tired.

Resting does not only mean sleeping. It can also include relaxing your body and allowing your digestive system time to settle. Taking short breaks, reducing physical strain, and avoiding stressful activities may help you feel better.

Getting enough sleep is also important because the body repairs and recovers during sleep. Poor sleep may sometimes increase tiredness and make stomach discomfort feel worse.

While resting, continue drinking fluids and eat light foods if you are able to eat. If stomach pain becomes severe, keeps returning, or occurs with symptoms such as fever, repeated vomiting, or blood in stool, medical evaluation is important.
