One of the most common reasons for headache is dehydration. When the body does not get enough water, the brain tissues can temporarily shrink because of fluid loss. This creates pressure and pain in the head, which can lead to a continuous headache for several days. Drinking enough water helps restore the body’s fluid balance and allows the brain to function properly.
In daily life, many people forget to drink water regularly, especially when they are busy, working in the sun, or consuming too much tea, coffee, or spicy food. These things can increase dehydration in the body and trigger headaches. That is why it is very important to drink water throughout the day, not only when you feel thirsty.
Try to drink 7–10 glasses of clean water daily. In hot weather or during heavy work, your body may need even more water. You can also drink lemon water, coconut water, or ORS to keep your body hydrated. These drinks help replace lost minerals and keep your body fresh and energetic.
A good habit is to start your morning with a glass of warm water and keep a bottle of water near you during the day. Drinking small amounts of water frequently is better than drinking a large amount at once. Proper hydration improves blood circulation, reduces pressure in the head, and helps prevent headaches.
