Sit at a Desk, Not on the Bed

If you feel sleepy while studying at night, avoid studying on your bed. Your bed is mainly associated with rest and sleep, so lying doìwn can make you feel more relaxed and increase sleepiness. Instead, sit at a proper desk and chair while studying.

Choose a comfortable chair that supports your back and keep your study materials at a convenient height. Sit upright rather than bending over your books or using your phone while lying down. Keep the study area well-lit and organized so that you can stay focused.

You can also take a short movement break every 30–45 minutes. Stand up, stretch your arms and legs, or walk around for a few minutes before returning to your desk. This can help you feel refreshed and maintain concentration.

Most importantly, don't use this method to regularly replace adequate sleep. If you are extremely sleepy, taking enough rest is better than forcing yourself to study.
