Oatmeal or Besan Bath

An oatmeal or besan (gram flour) bath is a natural, gentle, and very effective remedy to reduce body itching, dryness, and skin irritation during winter. Both ingredients calm the skin, remove dirt softly, and help retain moisture without stripping natural oils.

Oatmeal Bath – Best for Severe Itching

Oatmeal has anti-itching and soothing properties that calm dry, irritated skin.

How to prepare:  Grind plain oats into a fine powder
Add 2–3 tablespoons of oatmeal powder to a bucket of lukewarm water
 Mix well and bathe gently
 Do 2–3 times a week

Benefits:

  • Relieves itching and redness
  • Moisturizes dry skin
  • Helps in eczema-like dryness
  • Makes skin soft and smooth

Besan Bath – Gentle Natural Cleanser

Besan cleans the skin naturally without causing dryness.

How to prepare:  Mix 2 tablespoons besan with lukewarm water
 You can add:

  • A few drops of coconut oil (for extra moisture)
  • Milk or curd (for softness)

Apply gently on body and rinse with lukewarm water
 Use 2–3 times a week

Benefits:

  • Removes dirt without drying
  • Reduces winter itching
  • Improves skin texture
  • Keeps skin fresh and healthy

After Bath Care (Very Important)

Pat skin dry with soft towel
Apply oil or moisturizer immediately after bath
 Do not rub skin harshly

Important Tips

Always use lukewarm water
Avoid hot water
Do not use daily—2–3 times a week is enough
