Eating food during fasting
🌙 During Fasting Hours (When You Can Eat)
🔹 1. Hydrating Foods & Drinks
- Water, coconut water, lemon water (stay hydrated).
- Herbal teas / green tea (without sugar).
- Milk / buttermilk / lassi for energy.
🔹 2. Light & Energizing Foods
- Fruits: Banana, apple, papaya, orange, watermelon, pomegranate, grapes.
- Dry fruits & nuts: Almonds, walnuts, dates, raisins, figs – give instant energy.
- Seeds: Chia seeds, flaxseeds, pumpkin & sunflower seeds.
🔹 3. Grains (If Allowed)
- Samak rice (Barnyard millet)
- Singhara (water chestnut) flour roti/pancake
- Kuttu (buckwheat) flour roti, cheela, or pakora (shallow-fried)
- Sabudana khichdi (with peanuts & minimal oil)
🔹 4. Protein-Rich Foods
- Paneer, curd, yogurt
- Lentils or sprouts (if allowed in your fasting type)
- Moong dal chilla or cheela (for health-based fasting)
🔹 5. Easy-to-Digest Veggies
- Boiled potato, sweet potato
- Lauki (bottle gourd), pumpkin, cucumber, spinach
- Steamed/boiled veggies with light seasoning
🌞 If Doing Intermittent Fasting
When your fasting window ends (first meal should be light):
- Start with water + soaked dates or fruit.
- Follow with protein + complex carbs (paneer, eggs, sprouts, brown rice, dal, millet).
- Avoid fried, sugary, or heavy foods right after fasting.
