spend long hours on laptops and mobiles
💻📱 Tips to Care for Your Eyes While Using Laptop/Mobile
1. Follow the 20-20-20 Rule
- Every 20 minutes, look at something 20 feet away for 20 seconds.
- This relaxes eye muscles and reduces strain.
2. Blink More Often
- While staring at screens, we blink less → eyes get dry.
- Make a habit to blink consciously to keep eyes moist.
3. Adjust Screen Settings
- Keep brightness moderate (not too high/low).
- Use blue light filter/night mode on devices.
- Increase font size to avoid squinting.
4. Maintain Proper Distance & Posture
- Laptop: Keep screen at arm’s length (~20–24 inches).
- Mobile: Keep at least 12–16 inches away from eyes.
- Screen top should be at eye level or slightly below.
5. Control Lighting
- Avoid glare: Don’t use laptop/mobile in dark rooms.
- Use anti-glare screen protectors or spectacles if needed.
6. Keep Eyes Moist
- Drink plenty of water.
- If eyes feel dry, splash with cold water or use artificial tears (eye drops) after doctor’s advice.
7. Take Frequent Breaks
- Every 1 hour, rest your eyes for 5 minutes.
- Close eyes gently, or do palming (rub palms, place warm palms over closed eyes).
8. Eye Exercises
- Rotate eyes clockwise & anticlockwise.
- Focus near (finger) → then far (window/tree) → repeat 10 times.
- Helps strengthen eye muscles.
9. Healthy Diet for Eyes
- Eat carrots, spinach, almonds, walnuts, oranges, blueberries.
- Rich in Vitamin A, C, E, and Omega-3, which protect eyesight.
10. Regular Checkups
- If you have persistent dryness, headache, or blurry vision → visit an eye doctor.
